Graduation Time! Local Gift Ideas

Congratulations to the Class of 2019!

I was having lunch with a friend at Monroe’s last week (YUM!), and she mentioned that her granddaughter is graduating from high school this month.

“What,” I asked, “are you going to get her?”

She hung her head and said she still didn’t know.

It which point I told her about my visit to Ohh! Ahh! Jewelry in Nob Hill.

Ohh! Ahh! is one of the best places in Albuquerque to shop for jewelry, so I stopped in and asked about graduation gift ideas. The super-friendly staff had several affordable options, and are always happy to gift wrap.

To show some 505 pride, check out these necklaces:

These fun Morse Code necklaces spell out “Albuquerque” and “New Mexico,” and are just $40 each! Or get one of each, to wear together… Ohh! Ahh!

And these charming necklaces, just $35 each, remind us that home is where the heart is:

Is your graduate is traveling? Duran’s Central Pharmacy has a great selection of snazzy suitcases, carrier bags (for that laptop or iPad), and purses. Good luck not getting distracted by all the other nifty gifts as you work your way to the back of the store! They also have a fun collection of kitchen accessories and cookbooks…Just sayin’.

If you’re giving the gift that always fits — cold, hard, cash — and you want to jazz it up, stop by Creative Culture. You’ll find tons of fancy paper and cards and DIY gift ideas. If your graduate is crafty, there are all sorts of affordable gift ideas! And they have an incredible collection of cards.

New Mexico United, our awesome professional soccer team, has moved into Nob Hill! The shop is at 3500 Central Ave. SE, Suite 2. You don’t need the Suite number, though, it’s right at the corner of Central and Carlisle, where the A Store used to be, and the windows are filled with yellow and black NM United logos. Hook your grad up with official gear, or get them tickets to a game. The last game of this season is October 19th, so there is time to join enjoy the first season of the “Somos Unidos” party!
